is running a remote node heavy on hardware and bandwidth?

So I downloaded the new gui wallet and I was able to download the monero blockchain and run my own local node. It’s pretty cool! I was thinking of converting it into a remote node but I don’t know if it’s going to be too hard on the bandwidth or overheating my cpu etc. I won’t be mining but just allowing others to connect to my node.

Most of the previous questions and Monero guides only discuss the advantages of running your own node and how it is better and how to run a remote node, but I haven’t found anything on this question. I’m guessing overheating is not an issue but bandwidth might be (if I’ve a data cap)? I’d just set it up on a VPS if it’s too much of hassle with hardware.

Thanks
