I got into cryptocurrencies and stocks because I have been banned and censored so universally online that I simply do not bother expending my energy into socializing outside of exchanges like this. I have a genuine worry that I can be banned and censored by banks and online economies via blocking my trades and locking my monetary accounts.
Monero promises privacy, but the free speech aspect is not so heavily marketed. Further, the symbolism of the r/Monero coin leaves me baffled as to why they would promote privacy or free speech yet have no related symbolism in the coin itself.
Ethereum has plenty of fancy coding and privacy power as do cryptocurrencies in general. Monero's coding is not 100% unique and likely draws inspiration from existing currencies. Plenty of other cryptocurrencies already exist also offering pie-in-the-sky specs and promises. Monero could easily fall flat and fail as can many other currently popular cryptocurrencies.
If you don't like anything I just said, tough nuts because I'm your market demographic so if you can't get me onboard, good luck with this coin's future. I may or may not invest in this currency depending what I hear, with that amount naturally being private in the spirit of Monero.
How can Monero protect my free speech better than all the other cryptocurrencies?
