Really basic question and I feel stupid for asking. I’m not a newby, but never tried this before.

Trying to install, run, and save all data, including the blockchain data, to an external hard drive. Every time I try to start the daemon it wants to download it to my computer instead of the external hard drive. I’m sure there’s a simple fix I just don’t know how. If someone could give me some basic instructions, sort of like a “Daemon for Dummies” type walkthrough, i’m sure I could do it. Thank you in advance.
