Missing XMR account & deposit – Monero GUI 18.1.0.

How to replicate issue:

  1. Open wallet in Monero GUI 18.1.0 with connected hardware wallet
  2. Click Receive
  3. Under new Address's heading on Receive page click "Create new address"
  4. Set the label of the new address
  5. Copy address to clipboard
  6. Send XMR to new address

After following these steps, closed wallet and upon re-opening wallet, there is only 1 account (#0 primary address) listed under "Accounts" and the funds never showed up in balance.

The new address (labelled in step 4 above) does not appear under "Accounts".
